Francisca Valenzuela
Francisca Valenzuela is a Chilean-American singer-songwriter, poet, multi-instrumentalist, and activist. She gained attention in Chile and Latin America in the late 2000s, following the release of her debut album, Muérdete La Lengua (2007), her profile continued increasing with the release of her second album, Buen Soldado (2011). Her third studio album, Tajo Abierto (2014) was released under her own independent record label Frantastic Records, and earned her first Latin Grammy Award nomination. After taking a break, Valenzuela returned at the end of the 2010s, with the creation of her Ruidosa Festival (2017) which aims to showcase and support female music artists in South America. It was commercial success and its celebrated annually. During that period, she signed with Sony Music Chile, and went to release her fourth studio album La Fortaleza (2020) and her fifth studio album Vida tan Bonita (2022) under the label. Later on, she returned as an independent artist with the release of her sixth studio album Adentro (2023) and her seventh studio album Maldita (2026), both records received widespread critical acclaim, with many critics calling them the best of her career. Outside of music, Valenzuela has attracted attention in the media thanks to her activism, she's a feminist and democracy rights advocate, and a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.
Valenzuela has earned both gold and platinum album certifications in Chile alone. As well, Valenzuela has received various accolades throughout her music career, including: four Premios Pulsar, one Premio MUSA, six Viña del Mar International Song Festival victories, as well as nominations for four Latin Grammy Awards, and five Copihue de Oro.
Throughout her career, Valenzuela has cemented herself as one of the most known and celebrated Pop-rock artists of Chile. Thanks to her contributions to music, Forbes Chile included Valenzuela on their list of the "50 Most-Creative Chileans", and Rolling Stone dubbed her "one of the most generous artists of her generation" due to her philanthropy. Her most known songs includes the Chilean top-ten hits: "Dulce", "Muérdete La Lengua", "Buen Soldado", "Prenderemos Fuego Al Cielo", and "Héroe".
