Season 1

The story begins in 2012, when Willem Holleeder is released after years of imprisonment. This is to the frustration of his sisters Astrid and Sonja, who would like to see him back behind bars as soon as possible. They put together a risky plan to achieve that.

While Astrid Holleeder makes statements against her brother Willem for the first time, she also decides to secretly record the conversations with Willem. When Willem catches her, her life is no longer safe.

Astrid and Sonja have to make vault statements. As a result, they will be inaccessible for two days. They fear what Willem will think if he cannot reach both his sisters.

Willem has threatened Peter R. de Vries and it is up to Astrid to solve this problem. It takes Astrid back to her childhood in the 1970s. Violence and threats were a daily occurrence in their family.

Sonja goes into hiding because Willem's threats are becoming more and more serious. After a year, the justice department has still not done anything with their vault statements. Astrid and Sonja therefore decide to play high game.

Now that Willem has been unexpectedly arrested, Astrid and Sonja have to make a decision about their vault declarations. Do they dare to make it public?
