Ivy wants to avoid speaking about a traumatic situation with her mother, so she forces herself into a simulated reality that takes place in her own mind. Here she is met with her supposed paradise, but that doesn’t last long, because her trauma is so deeply rooted that it begins to seep through the simulation. She faces several manifestations of her inner thoughts in the form of real, tangible people who convince her that she is better off here, but she can’t help but feel as though her paradise has turned into something that is worse than the feelings she is trying to escape.
