Quiet, understated, and uncomfortably funny
Swedish movies, especially comedies, from the 70s were weird. And this one is as well.
It is such an absurd amalgamation of outrageous talent, long, lingering shots and convoluted scenario-writing that it comes off as a deeply uncomfortable and funny at the same time. I wonder how this was received when it came out, and now it is a bit out of date, as far as the humor goes, but it is still funny.
