Orphaned brothers Gu Xiao and Ling Yao, separated in their youth, reunite in a small overseas town. Gu Xiao, entrenched in the underworld, secretly raises money to build a welfare home for orphans; computer genius Ling Yao sees through the vast gray industry behind it and feigns involvement to assist his brother. The two navigate various factions, averting numerous life-or-death crises, but as estrangement and conflict grow, they never truly let go of each other.
